Happy Kids of Cozumel

CHRISTMAS ACTION

Every year Karen Bloemhoff,
from Dive Choice Mexico,
collects donated Christmas
presents for the underprivileged
children of Cozumel.

Happy kids of Cozumel - thanks to Karen Bloemhoff about 150 kids had a nice Christmas in 2009.
She started collecting donated Christmas gifts for children in 2008 and will continue this successful
action in 2010. Everyone is welcome to bring a small, inexpensive gift for a Cozumel child who will
really appreciate it.

Cactus TV and the CozumelRestaurantGuide.com support Karen´s wonderful idea and took some photos
of her and her husband Ricardo driving thru Cozumel and giving all donated gifts away to the kids.
Please have a look at the kids´ - and mommies´ - BIG smiles :

Driving thru "Las Fincas" and other neighborhoods Karen and Ricardo found a lot of kids that enjoyed picking a Christmas
gift out of their car´s trunk :

Thanks to all the generous people. Sometimes which present to choose wasn’t easy……..but eventually every kid got his or her toy:

If you have a little bit of spare space in your luggage, please bring a small, inexpensive gift for a Cozumel child who will really love it. Help Karen to put more BIG smiles in those childrens faces.

Christmas presents can be dropped off all year long at
Babieca Dive Shop, located at El Cid/La Ceiba,
Deep Blue, located on 10 with Rosado Salas or at
Dive Choice Mexico on 85 between 7 and Hidalgo, number 11

And for futher information please don´t hesitate to contact Karen at :

The Seafood of Cozumel

Freshest Fish and Seafood

If you visit the Island and like to eat real Cozumel Seafood, caught by Cozumel fishermen.
We recommend original Cozumel Restaurants, like La Perlita, Guidos, Capi Navigante, La Choza, Sabores, La Mission, Prima Trattoria, La Veranda these Restaurants are buying their fish directly from Cozumel Fishermen.

Cozumel fishermen are catching fish with small single engine boats in the north part of the island. And bring their catch directly to the Restaurants every Day.
Grouper, Red Snaper, Blue Marlin, Dorados are the fishes swiming around the island.

If you go to well known restaurant chains and order some fresh fish, you will get imported deep frozen Seafood from somewhere else in the world. Disgusting....
Of course it is fast and easy to eat but if you are on vacation you should calm down and enjoy your vacation with a nice meal, a glas of wine or what ever you like.

Visit Cozumel and support the mexican island style.

This week: Whats about Fajitas in Cozumel

Ernestos Fajitas Factory since "1985"

Ernesto introduced fajitas for the first time in Mexico back in 1985 when you could only find fajitas in Texas. Texas is where the now famous fajita dish originated, actually in the South of Texas on ranches cooked Mexican cowboys.
The original fajitas were cooked using the part of the beef called the skirt steak. The fajita name comes from the word (faja) which translated means a band to hold in your stomach. It is marinated and cooked with onions on a hot iron plate and accompanied with pico de gallo, guacamole and flour tortillas to roll your own taco.
It later became a must in Mexican restaurants. Since then Ernestos has been the place to enjoy a great fajita using his original recipe. Ernestos is a favorite hang out for divers, snorkelers or just the tourist, enjoying the coldest beer $1.50, chimichangas, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, nachos, guacamole, shrimp, fish and awesome margaritas, mojitos, pina coladas and more, overlooking the amazing caribbean sea.
